Project: Residential Development
Location: British Columbia
Size: 100 m3/d (25,000 gpd)
Contract: Design-Build-Operate

Key objectives: Class A effluent; modular and expandable; odorless, noiseless, hidden

This advanced wastewater treatment plant is designed to be built in two phases to ultimately serve 110 Residential Units. Since the effluent is discharged in the vicinity of an aquifer, Class A reclaimed water quality effluent was stipulated as follows: BOD and TSS of less than 10 mg/L, Total Nitrogen of less than 20 mg/L, average Turbidity of 2 NTU, and Median Fecal Coliform of 200 MPN/100 mL.

The project was awarded to ECOfluid as a Design-Build-Operate contract, and the first phase of the plant was completed in July 2013.

The Phase 1 plant consists of coarse screening and equalization, a USBF® bioreactor, and sand filters and UV disinfection for tertiary treatment. The plant is currently operated and maintained by ECOfluid.
